Questions we get before the first visit
How long does a survey take?
An hour for a single unit, half a day for a portfolio. We open things rather than reading nameplates, which is why the report is worth having.
Do you price maintenance from floor area?
No. We price it per unit after seeing each one. A floor area tells you nothing about what is on the roof or what condition it is in.
Do you work on houses?
Yes, and with the same instruments. Sheet 03 covers the residential side properly rather than as a footnote.
What do I do about a gas smell or a carbon monoxide alarm?
Get everybody out and call 911 or the gas utility from outside, before you call us. We will come afterwards and find out what caused it.
Can you tell me what is wrong over the phone?
We can usually tell you whether it sounds urgent and whether it gets worse if it waits. A diagnosis needs instruments on the equipment.
Do you clean kitchen extract ductwork?
We service the fans, the hinges, the make-up air and the balance. Cleaning grease ductwork itself is a separate specialist trade and we will tell you so rather than half-doing it.
